Common Questions & Answers

Q - Do I need a consultation before we schedule an appointment?

A - Yes, a free 15 minute consultation will be provided to answer questions and make sure we are a good fit based on my professional experience and your situation and symptoms.

Q - What can I expect at my first session?

A - We will discuss what brings you to therapy including identifying things you would like to be different in your life. There are no right or wrong answers. I strive to have a relaxed welcoming environment for all.

Q - Will I need therapy forever?

A - Most people don’t need therapy forever. Therapy is meant to help overcome life struggles by learning techniques, processing situations, and expressing emotions. Once therapy goals are met, sessions may not be needed unless other issues are identified. As you gain more skills and self-awareness, you may find yourself being able to be more resilient to life’s challenges in the future. It is common that with “bumps” in the road, therapy may be needed at different times in your life.

Q - Will my family and friends know I’m in therapy?

A - Privacy rules keep your patient file confidential. I can’t confirm nor deny your attendance in therapy to anyone except your insurance carrier as I follow HIPPA laws of confidentiality.

Q - What is the cost of therapy?

A - We accept some insurance and have self-paid options. Please contact our office for individual information.
